The Little Tern is a pretty elegant bird, the smallest Tern in Europe. In former times it was a typical breeding bird along natural rivers. Nowadays, the last inland breeding populations in Europe are scattered above four river systems.

The Drava along the Croatian-Hungarian border is one of them.

But the Little Tern is in danger. Sediment extraction and river channelling is destroying the last intact river stretches and breeding areas along the Drava .

This website is dedicated to the Little Tern.

For a living Drava and against river destruction!
